On Monday April 28/03, at the River Run Centre, the Pesticide Ban got banned - at least for now. Facing overwhelming pressure from the realization that Marion Baldwin chair of the Pesticide committee was hardly a "randomly" selected citizen, the failure to disclose the meeting minutes of the committee after Freedom of Information requests had been initiated, combined with the reaction to the $50 thousand price tag for the "only one can apply for the job" consultant and facing the wrath of the true majority of citizens, the Mayor backed down from her clique's OPIRG agenda of another social engineering exercise into controlling the daily behaviours and freedoms of Guelph taxpayers. The usual fix was in but this time it didn't work. Guelphites aren't as politically apathetic as they were expected to be. You can bet that this issue is not dead yet.

It's no April Fool's joke. The city is again raising the cost of water in Guelph.
The waste water fees and water basic service charge is being increased.
The bottom line is a 15% increase on a basic water bill.
