Guelph's Mayor Farbridge wants to see the Smart Guelph plan back on council's agenda really quickly. She said in an interview on Wednesday May 28/03: "I personally can't tolerate delay on this."
Well considering that the recently dismissed Smart Guelph plan could not provide a future estimate of what it would cost the taxpayers and more importantly, recognizing the section of the Smart Guelph plan that provides Farbridge herself with a taxpayer paid job for the next 25 years, no one could be surprised that she "can't tolerate delay on this".
She must be reading the writing on the wall spelling out the unlikely possibility that she will ever be elected to the job of Mayor again.

Guelph's Eastview dump is now Toronto's dump. 10 to 50 trucks per day are bringing TO's garbage to Guelph. While Guelph residents are forced to be garbage sorters for the City of Guelph under the new three bag Wet Dry Plus ++++ system, TO's garbage arrives in Guelph in black bags. Guelph homeowners are compelled to sort their garbage into blue, green and clear bags which are then shipped out of town at taxpayer's expense while TO's black bag garbage arrives into Guelph. Does this make any sense to anyone other than City Hall?

It seems that the Pesticide Ban has been resurrected under a new mantle called the "Healthy Landscapes By-law and/or Program".
At the May 26, 2003 council meeting held at the Italian Canadian Club in Guelph, 9 councillors and Mayor Farbridge voted in favour while 3 were against as follows:
